Meaning, Anxiety, Zombies, Religion, Video Games, Stoicism, and Being (All the Things!)
Manage episode 442170279 series 3576823
John Vervaeke cites a survey from the UK where many respondents say their life is meaningless, and he brings up zombies as a myth of our time. We discuss zombies’ possible significance. Zombies have no past and are pure consuming desire and yet do not realize this. People, too, seem to be unaware of why they are purposeless and lack connectedness to a promising vocabulary. We touch on whether contemporary feel-good Christianity speaks to people with “being needs,” then dialogue on dogma and think about thought. I am very enthusiastic about Vervaeke & Co.’s renewal project. How self-aware are you and how do you propose to address your self-deception or to self-transcend? Thanks for listening.
