LAST DOMINO STANDING
Markets are still grappling with the second consecutive Fed pause.
The previous week bond markets had the biggest 3-day rally in a dozen years.
Likewise, many of the most watched asset markets had their best 3-days of the year, resulting in the dollar’s biggest sell-off during that same stretch.
However, just a week later and an ugly 30-year bond auction has many questioning if the world is finally beginning to reject U.S. bonds as the safe haven.
Is the reckless spending finally catching up to the U.S. government, or is this just a warning sign that a global sovereign debt crisis is about to unfold.
If so, then despite all its misbehaving, the U.S. is still likely to be the last domino standing.
