Donna talks with Chef Enrique Brmeo of Sophia Italian Bistro. Enrique Bermeo having worked at La Mela in Little Italy, NY, Il Mulino in NYC and Luigi Q in Hicksville, Long Island; decided the time was right to open aquality restaurant of his own at the old Villa Avanzo location. The winning strategy for many successful restaurants is to have one owner in the dining room and another in the kitchen. Sophia Italian Bistro has such a dream team. Riccardo Sanseverino was the captain in charge of the dining room at Tesoro in Westbury for many years. His partner at Sophia, Enrique Bermeo, was the chef at Luigi Q in Hicksville for over a decade. These two first-time restaurateurs opened Sophia in Amityville in early September.

Konner Development has joined forces with Saunders & Associates to represent, market and sell their properties. The Konners with their vast experience have weathered everything from a 2,000 year old skull being found in an excavation on the site where she owned the old St. James Hotel, to developing land in Bridgehampton north of the highway when it wasn’t considered valuable by others.
