Episode 4 of Under the Banner of Heaven, titled Church and State, shows us the internal struggle Detective Jeb Pyre has when he chooses his job over the demands of Church. It's revealed that Dan's defiance of man's law takes him down an FLDS path that puts his life and the life of his wife in danger. Ron was indeed upset by his own wife's writing of the letter to the President of the Church, denouncing anti-government sentiments. And Detective Taba is still useless. Jen and David have a found a way to relate to all of these, as we're sure you have to.
