43:31In the US, women in perimenopause often feel that the western medical system has abandoned them. We have heard a lot about the benefits of healthcare in Canada. How are they doing with supporting midlife women? In my conversation with Lindsay we talk about the general healthcare system in Canada, and we especially focus on her personal experience. As a mother and businesswoman - what did perimenopause add to her already busy life? Were there any challenges she had to overcome? What was the physical experience of perimenopause - and was there also an emotional layer? And what comes after? What was her learning and growth process - and how is she using her experience now to support others. Hint: she is a leadership coach for high achieving business leaders. Lindsay has her own podcast for and about female entrepreneurs and small business owners. You can listen to it here: Female Founder Unplugged You can connect with Lindsay on Instagram @highvoltleadership . If you enjoyed this episode, please share it with others. 36:19Perimenopause is such a challenging time for women. So many things are changing in our bodies. Some changes are more internal, you don't see them but you do feel them! Others are there for everyone to see - like changes to our skin. Dry skin, wrinkles, adult acne, irritations - what's a woman to do when there's no product out there powerful enough to address the issue yet gentle and non irritating to the delicate skin of our face? Enter Gallop hill . A new indie skin care company located in the Hudson Valley, NY. I had a conversation with Ann, the founder and owner of Gallop Hill. Ann talks about the challenges she had and the frustration she experienced when she couldn't find relief from already existing products. The creative and entrepreneurial soul she is - she founded a company and created natural, gentle products that are dermatologist tested, non irritant, safe for all skin types and the environment. And they smell amazing!!! Ann's products are available from her website and she has a special offer for listeners of this podcast: a special 10% discount until November 30th, 2024 and a free gift. Have you ever walked into a room only to stand there not knowing what you wanted? I have! I also frequently wake up at night, around 3 am with all kinds of thoughts going through my mind. Sometimes my hands and feet feel numb. I have sensitivities to food that suddenly appeared. Describing these symptoms to my medical doctors sent me on a crazy journey of tests, wrong diagnosis and anxiety. I was confused and felt abandoned. Years later I connected the dots - I was in perimenopause. I'm making this podcast for you - a woman in midlife going through hormonal changes. I share my story and the story of women who are on this journey. I talk with experts who support women on this journey. It's time we talked about Menopause and got more information and support. This is not a disease, nothing to be ashamed of. Every woman will go through it. It's an exciting, though often chaotic transition. On the other side is a confident, sensual woman who knows what she wants and what she won't put up with any longer. Music "The Best Jazz club in New Orleans" by Paolo Argento.
