Dave is back and he is on fire. He responds to a listener question, "What do we do?" But first, we set the table by analyzing the powerful and emotional song, "Come Jesus Come" by Stephen Mcwhirter, and Daves response is not what we would expect.

Before we dive into how best to answer the question, "but what can I do" when faced with a moral dilemma or trial of some kind, Dave has a word or two to share.
I’ve asked mark to play "Come Jesus Come" by Stephen McWhirter first, because I think the answer is IN this song and the answer is NOT what you might think or deduct from listening once to this song.

First and foremost, this song IS a prayer! It’s not just a catchy tune…it’s a plea for help and relief…for Jesus to “Come and fix everything!”

I love this song, makes me want to cry every time I hear it…because to everyone that IS a BELIEVER, the promise and vision of Heaven is a PRIZE of ETERNAL BLISS, JOY, and FULFILLMENT! BUT to reduce the message to a whinny spineless plea for Jesus to come and fix everything is SAD!

Think about it from Jesus’ point of view. He’s already come…over the ages…he has been engaging and answering prayers for thousands of years, and STILL His people can’t, won’t or don’t understand that HE has ALREADY given US the POWER and AUTHORITY to SPEAK UP, STAND UP, FIGHT, FORM A LINE and HOLD it for RIGHTEOUS SAKE!!

To suggest that only His second return can fix our broken lives is to suggest that there in NO POWER in the COMFORTER he sent to us in Acts…the Holy Spirit…that His spilt blood Has no power! I thought there was POWER IN THE BLOOD!!

My Bible says that the SAME SPIRIT that raised Christ from the dead, dwells in me (Roman’s 8:11). That means all believers have RESURRECTION POWER living in them. Question. Why is it we don’t know how to deploy it. Worse yet, WHY don’t we believe that we’ve been given this power?

How about these scriptures? Are they worthless words of encouragement or instructions that we simply can’t wrap our minds around … because we are a weak knee’d faithless group on Sunday believers interested only in praying for what we want instead of what we NEED!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Phil. 4:13)

It doesn’t say some people, only strong people…it says “I can do all things…”

If Christ be for me, who can be against me. (Rom 8:31)

Nothing is impossible to God. (Luke 1:37)

Let us approach the throne of grace with CONFIDENCE, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in times of trouble (Heb 4:16)

It doesn’t say approach the throne of grace whining like a baby or begging like a dog. It says WITH CONFIDENCE!!! So that…

And this IS the confidence that we HAVE in Him, that WHATEVER we ask according to his will, we know that he hears us, and knowing that he hears us in what we ask, we know we have the very petition of our heart. (1John 5:14-16)

Said differently, do we really want god to come OR do we want god to anoint us and empower us to do what he's called us to do and be ....waymakers, salt shakers...faithful accountable disciples willing to die on the line for HIS namesake?!

Think about this...the song says we've been waiting so long for him to turn this around...maybe he's been waiting for his church...the enlightened believers to get off their Ass and fight for righteousness....we don't need god to return...we need millions of believers to engage in FEVERENT PRAYER…APPROACH THE THRONE ROOM OF HEAVEN and ENGAGE in EPHESIANS 6:10-18 SPIRITUAL WARFARE !!
