Zack Wheeler tossed 7 scoreless innings while Edmundo Sosa drove in two runs to help the Philadelphia Phillies get by the Atlanta Braves, 3-0! It’s the 2nd time in their last 5 games a Phillies pitcher threw 7-shutout-innings.

Jeff Hoffman pitched the 8th inning before giving way to Carlos Esteves for the save. Both relievers struck out 2 of the batters they faced to give Phillies pitching 11 Ks on the night.

The Phillies' offense was inconsistent but clutch. They only came up with 5 hits on the night, but 3 of those hits produced runs. Edmundo Sosa took Max Fried deep in the 3rd inning blasting a slider 450ft to left/center field for a 1-0 lead. Then Trea Turner followed in the 6th with his 15th homer of the season, also off Fried. Sosa came up big again in the 7th inning after Weston Wilson worked a 1-out walk, Sosa brought him home on a double off the right field wall.
