The Philadelphia Phillies completed the sweep of the San Diego Padres with an 8-6 win Sunday afternoon in San Diego. Bryson Stott powered the Phils with the first multi-homer game of his career. Stott hit two, 2-run home runs in the game, one coming in the 2nd inning the other in the 4th. Both times, Nick Castellanos battled back from being down in the count to work walks in front of Stott.

Taijuan Walker made his season debut and tossed 6.1ip allowing 6 runs, all earned on 8 hits and 2 walks. That line for walker doesn’t exactly tell the whole story. Rob Thomson left Walker in the game in the 7th inning, which is out of character for Thomson considering how he has handled pitchers in the past especially pitchers coming off of an injury, like Walker.

Bullpen arms of Jeff Hoffman, Yunior Marte and Jose Alvarado shut the Padres down after Walker was pulled in the 7th.

Alec Bohm stays red hot, recording another multi-hit game as he finished the day 3-for-5 with 2 doubles. He has now hit safely in each of his last 12 games, raising his bating average from .232 to .365.
