LSU Tigers head coach Brian Kelly shared with the media after the spring game that defensive tackle would be their main focus and number one priority in the spring transfer portal window. LSU lost its two starting DTs, Mekhi Wingo and Maason Smith, to the NFL Draft this past weekend and there is no clear heir apparent currently on the roster. While LSU has targeted several players in the portal to fill that position, they host one today. Damonic Williams, a two-year starting DT out of TCU, is the second rated defensive lineman in the spring transfer portal class. Williams took visits with the Texas Longhorns, Oklahoma Sooners, and Missouri Tigers this past week and now finds himself in Baton Rouge taking a visit with the Tigers.

Plus, six former Tigers were drafted this past weekend in the NFL Draft. Former LSU QB and Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels was selected second overall to the Washington Commanders, followed by Malik Nabers to the Giants and Brian Thomas Jr. to the Jaguars in the first round. Smith is also heading to Jacksonville in addition to DT Jordan Jefferson. DT Mekhi Wingo was the final Tiger off the board as the Detroit Lions selected him in the sixth round of the Draft.
