Mental health awareness week is here! Here's a handy tool you can keep in your back pocket & listen to at anytime. It's a 2 minute guided breathwork exercise to help regulate your nervous system if you're feeling a little frazzled. That's what we know, but here's Gemma's professional run down:
Breathwork is a natural healing modality that works by taking conscious and connected control of your breath, and as part of Mental Health Awareness Week, we have Gemma Rose guiding you through this short practise to support your wellbeing.
Restorative Breathwork activates your parasympathetic nervous system, signalling to your body that it's safe to come into "rest and digest". It's perfect to practise right before bed to switch you out of the sympathetic nervous system (that fight or flight energy), or if you've woken up feeling a little overwhelmed and anxious.
This breathing style works by breathing in through the nose for a count of two, and out through the mouth for a count of two. When you inhale through the nose, draw your breath all the way down into your diaphragm.
There's plenty of benefits to Breathwork like reducing inflammation, enhancing digestion, greater mental clarity, increased focus, and releasing stress...to name a few!
