On October 8, 1956, baseball history was made and the record still stands - the only perfect game pitched in a world series and the amazing feat was accomplished by my guest - Yankees pitcher Don Larson. Some might argue that the record was broken by Phillies pitcher Roy Hallady when he threw a no hitter against the Reds on October 6, 2010, but that was game one of the National League Division Series...a playoff game, not a world series game. Don was in town to promote his new book and sign some autographs, so in the morning we talked via telephone on my show and then later I dropped by the event to meet him and he kindly signed a baseball that I still own. I think you'll be impressed with how charming and funny he was recalling all the events of that very special day and how his teammates were afraid to talk to him and break the spell.
