These operators are the calm voice on the other end of the line, guiding individuals through emergencies ranging from medical crises to natural disasters, offering a lifeline when every second counts. Today, we have the privilege of speaking with Lindzee Roten, a seasoned 911 operator with over 12 years of experience, to gain insight into the challenges, rewards, and intense realities of this vital role. We’ll explore the mental resilience it takes to handle life-or-death situations and the impact of being on the front lines of emergency response.
A little about our guest:
Lindzee Roten has been a calltaker, police and fire dispatcher, and teletype operator for the for 12 years. She has a Master Telecommunicator Certification through TCOLE and has an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. Lindzee is a APCO Certified Training Officer and trains several positions and is an instructor in the Calltake Academy.
