Amos 8 The season of long suffering is ending and the nation of Israel (the summer fruits) is ripe for judgement. Point: Sometimes it is through the trials and judgements that our eyes are refocused solely upon God. May we not be a people in famine of God's Word.

Isaiah 53:1–11 & John 1:9–13 Jesus was rejected by men so we could be accepted by God. We can walk in the light of new life and become children of God.

John 1:1–5 Before the creation of the world, the Father’s good plan for rescuing his children was to send Jesus to earth. We can be victorious over our own darkness by receiving Jesus as the Word of God for ourselves.

Amos 5 God desires our hearts fully committed to Him. If we are living and dwelling in sin, His plea for us is to "Seek Him and live!"

Amos 3-4 God's judgment sought to awaken the hearts of Israel. God's desire is ultimately for our hearts and if we have wandered, He desires to bring us back to Himself.

Amos 1:1-12 Judgement upon Israel, Judah, and the surrounding nations.

The Lord judges the nations; the day of the Lord is coming.

Joel 2:15-32 After God's plague of locust, followed by a famine, the spirit of His people has been awakened. Joel calls for a nationwide prayer along with fasting. God asks for a rent heart of His people, and when this is evident, we see that He not only relents, but follows up with a blessing and restoration.…
