Good morning, weather watchers of New York City!
Bundle up because winter is definitely making its presence known. Today's forecast is bringing a chilly Arctic blast that'll have you reaching for your warmest layers.
We're looking at a mostly sunny day with temperatures struggling to climb, hitting a high near 34 degrees Fahrenheit. But here's the kicker - the wind chill will make it feel like a brisk 20 to 25 degrees. Northwest winds are howling around 18 miles per hour, with gusts up to 33 miles per hour that'll definitely make you want to keep that scarf tight!
Tonight, expect crystal clear skies but bone-chilling temperatures dropping to around 19 degrees. Wind chills will plummet to 10 to 15 degrees, so think thermal underwear and hot cocoa, folks!
Looking ahead to Sunday, we're in for another cold day with sunny skies and a high of just 26 degrees. Wind chills will hover between 5 and 15 degrees - perfect weather for indoor activities and warm comfort foods.
The week ahead shows some potential snow action Monday night and Tuesday, with a 30 to 40 percent chance of light snow showers. Christmas Day is looking surprisingly pleasant with mostly sunny skies and temperatures climbing to a more tolerable 39 degrees.
