She has grown Education Boutique without outside investment or partners, and this episode has plenty of advice you can apply to your business if you plan to scale:

• Remain in complete control of your business, until you're ready to sell and exit.
  
• Plan, plan and plan! Be ready with a Plan-B and be prepared to put plans on hold too! Always write your plans down, as that makes you accountable. Plan a year in advance, with monthly goals.
  
• Surround yourself with like minded people who have similar aspirations and values. You are the average of the 5 people you're closest to.
  
• Consider which clients will be able to expand your network, and realise how important referrals are as a marketing strategy.
