Please don’t @ me, the title is correct. ;)

TK (or a similar place holder, eg “XX” or writing a NOTE IN ALL CAPS) is a practical tool to take to remind yourself that after the current drafting phase you’ll need to come back and add some more content or context. Many writers implement TK when they want to stay on task–eg the words are flowing and they recognize it’s better to stay in writing mode–but I want to encourage you to also try it when you DON’T want to stay on task.

Writing a draft without toggling writer mode/editor mode back and forth allows us to get it done much more quickly. As you practice staying in draft mode, without switching tasks, your ability to concentrate and focus will improve.
