This episode is brought to you by Stitch3d.io - making data collection, sharing, and storage, easier.

Stitch3D is a company that is dedicated to making 3D data accessible and easy to manage. The company believes that the world should be captured in 3D, and they have created a platform that allows users to store and access 3D data effortlessly.

The founder and CEO of Stitch3D, Clark Yuan, is a former army intelligence officer who graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. After serving seven years on active duty and overseeing tours of Afghanistan and South Korea, Clark left the military and discovered a passion for entrepreneurship at the intersection of national security, technology, and business.

In 2020, Clark founded Stitch3D as a 3D data software startup funded by the U.S. Air Force. The company's mission is to build the cloud infrastructure that supports 3D visualization, analytics, and collaboration. They aim to make working with 3D data easier and more efficient.

Clark's journey to becoming the CEO of Stitch3D started as an immigrant to the United States. He moved to the States when he was six years old and grew up listening to his grandfather's war stories. These stories instilled in him a sense of duty and a desire to give back to both his home country and the country he moved to.

With a deep understanding of the history and politics of China and Taiwan, Clark chose a military path in high school and enrolled at West Point to study Chinese. He wanted to better understand the language and culture and bridge the divide between the two countries. Throughout his military career, Clark realized the importance of technological innovation in deterrence and preventing future conflicts.

The concept of Stitch3D came about when Clark was transitioning from active duty to the army reserves. He started working with a Navy research lab in San Diego that used LiDAR technology to document and map naval ships and facilities. LiDAR technology provides a 3D picture of the physical world by using light waves.

Clark noticed that while the hardware capabilities of LiDAR were advancing rapidly, the software capabilities to manage and work with the data were lagging behind.

This realization led Clark to found Stitch3D, with the goal of creating software that could effectively handle and share 3D data. The company aims to bridge the gap between hardware and software capabilities, making it easier for users to access and utilize 3D data. Stitch3D's platform provides a simple and efficient way to store, manage, and collaborate on 3D data.
