The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 1: 3:05pm- In a statement released on Sunday, President Joe Biden announced his decision to pardon his son Hunter Biden of any offenses “which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in” dating back to 2014. Earlier this year, the younger Biden had been convicted of federal gun and tax evasion charges. A sentencing hearing had been scheduled for later this month. In his statement, President Biden justified his decision by claiming the Department of Justice treated his son “differently” and that he had been “singled out.” President Biden had previously said—on multiple occasions—that he would not pardon his son. 3:30pm- President Joe Biden’s pardon clears Hunter Biden of any crimes “he has committed or may have committed or taken part in” dating back to 2014—which is precisely when Hunter began working for the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. Republicans have claimed that President Biden directly benefited financially from his son’s affiliation with the company. 3:40pm- Despite the pardon, Senate Minority Whip John Thune (R-SD)—who will serve as Senate Majority leader beginning in January—announced that the U.S. Senate will continue to investigate potential corruption involving Hunter Biden and the Biden family. 3:50pm- While speaking with the press aboard Air Force One, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre revealed that President Joe Biden wouldn’t have pardoned his son Hunter if Kamala Harris had won the 2024 presidential election.
