In this week's episode, Charlotte discusses the horrific murder of Sylvia Likens. The daughter of carnival workers, Sylvia was a happy, healthy and beautiful 16 year old when her parents put her and her sister in the care of Gertrude Baniszewski. Almost overnight, Gertrude started to abuse Sylvia and even got her own children to join in on the abuse. The torture and murder of Sylvia Likens is widely regarded by Indiana citizens as the worst crime ever committed in their state.
