Play the Infinite Game of Learning | How to Get the Most out of a Flawed Education System
Manage episode 312571229 series 3238137
The idea of the education system being flawed isn't new, yet, not a lot has been said on how can students deal with it. It is so easy to go through the motions of school, jumping over academic hurdles and lose track of what really matters in education.
These are a few thoughts that I've put together on how to get the most out of a flawed education system. This has been inspired by Simon Sinek's book "The Infinite Game" and Sir Ken Robinson's book on Educational Reform called "Creative Schools" as well as my own personal experience trying to make the most out of my college life.
Here are a few resources to help you play the infinite game of learning during the lockdown:
Skillshare - An Online Learning platform focused on enhancing specific skills and crafts. Classes are plentiful and range from pottery to photography. https://skillshare.eqcm.net/IndividualCollective
Harvard Courses - Harvard has made a selection of their online courses free during this time of lockdown. Check out one of their MOOC classes https://online-learning.harvard.edu/
Scribd - A great place to find audiobooks, summaries of books and complete ebooks. I love this because it comes with a 30-day free trial, perfect for the lockdown season. https://www.scribd.com/
CreativeLive - I stumbled across this recently and have really enjoyed their catalogue of classes as well as their live classes. They give a full course for free when and you get one free lesson a day as well! https://www.creativelive.com/
99U - I would call this the "TED" for creatives. Lots of inspiring talks, articles and guides for the creative path takers. https://99u.adobe.com/talks
