This week, on The Conscious Consultant Hour, Sam welcomes Doctor, Author, Executive Producer, and Speaker, Sheila Grace Newsom, MD.

Sheila Grace Newsom, MD, MA, 72, is a practicing physician in Austin, TX. She answered a calling to gender transition which began at age 63.

Since then, she has written a book, A Calling from the Bones, volunteered at a local clinic offering gender centered care, undergone gender affirming surgery, and completed the MA program at Pacifica in Depth Psychology.

She created a concierge practice centered around ketamine and focuses on PTSD and suicidality.

Before her transition, she graduated from West Point, where she was the captain of the baseball team, served for 4 years as a paratrooper, then attained her MD at the University of Texas Medical Branch. She was a partner in two large nephrology practices in West Texas until retiring in 2011. She has been an executive producer on three films, spoke at SxSW on “Keeping the Soul in Psychedelics” in 2021, and is now doing consulting work with BRC, a large addiction treatment center in Manor, TX.
