Jesus Is God With Us --- John 1- 14-18 --1. INTRODUCTION--a. Your favourite footballer, singer, band is coming to SG--b. Jesus has come into human history----2. JESUS IS BETTER THAN ADAM -v14---a. Better nature- He is the God-Man. -- 'Word became flesh' vs 'Dust of the ground'. Gen 2-7--b. Better life- He radiates the glory of God.-- 'Full of grace and truth' vs 'shame'. Gen 2-25, 3-5.---- Believers- Are we full of grace and truth like Jesus----- Unbelievers- Place yourself under a better representative head. Rom 5-12-19---3. JESUS IS BETTER THAN JOHN THE BAPTIST -v15---a. Better prophet- God speaks directly.-- 'He who comes after me is preferred' vs 'me who comes before Him'. ---- Believers- Do we listen to Jesus----b. Better ministry. He fulfils the prophecies and promises of God.---- Unbelievers- Place yourself under a better prophet. ---4. JESUS IS BETTER THAN MOSES -v16-18---a. Better lawgiver- He fulfils the righteous demands of the Law.-- 'Grace for grace'- grace better than the earlier grace.-- 'Law through Moses' vs 'grace and truth through Jesus Christ'. ---JESUS IS GOD WITH US- -v14----- Believers- Do we love Jesus------ Unbelievers- Place yourself under a better lawgiver.
