The Battle of Brandy Station is the first battle of the Gettysburg Campaign and the largest, majority, cavalry engagement of the Civil War. At Brandy Station, the Army of the Potomac’s Cavalry Corps faced off against J.E.B. Stuart’s Cavalry in a fight that signaled an end to Confederate dominance in horse-mounted warfare.
