In this week's episode Nico Aviña; artist, poet, and owner of Espacio 1839, joins me to talk about his work on “Lupita en Desalojo” a mural that depicts the Virgin Mary, a cultural staple of most Hispanic beliefs, holding an eviction notice, the struggle those and many other communities have faced against gentrification and displacement, the importance of supporting local art and businesses, educating ourselves and taking back the power.
