Welcome to Episode 23 of the Sam Arkoh Podcast. In this episode, I explore the importance of publishing your "lousy work." In an era where individual creatives have to compete with companies, networks, and massive corporations, it can be daunting to share imperfect work—especially in the online space. This is something I personally struggle with as well. However, over the past four years of creating online, I’ve come to realize the power and value of publishing work that isn't perfect. I want to share some of the benefits I’ve experienced since I started publishing my work.

First, I’d like to give credit to Benjamin Hardy, author of Be Your Future Self Now, for the inspiration, and to Seth Godin for his powerful quote that inspired this episode.

I find it fascinating that Seth Godin's decision to publish his book led Benjamin Hardy to reference his quote, which ultimately inspired me to create this podcast episode. No matter how imperfect Seth Godin’s book may have seemed at the time, he couldn’t have known that his words would lead me here, creating this episode. His advice—"Ship often. Ship lousy stuff, but ship. Ship constantly.”—reminds us that even if we feel our work isn’t great, publishing is key. There’s always room for improvement, and our future selves will be smarter for the experience.

I can’t wait for you all to listen to this episode. I had a great time creating it, and I hope you find a lot of value in it. But most importantly, I hope it encourages you to publish your first video, post, book, or whatever project you’ve been holding back.
