Cries of "Hosanna!' had turned to cries of "Crucify Him!". Once on the cross, the religious leaders mocked Jesus saying, "If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross." "If He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him..." Jesus would not come down from the cross because He came down to earth for the cross.
