Many are predicting a better economy over the next few years which will produce more jobs and pay increases for consumers. Every year, the “experts” use data to put forth their best guesses as to what will happen with home values and mortgage interest rates. These estimates help people make goals or inform those that are just curious to see how things will turn out. To help us understand what typically happens after a major election, I review historical research that shows what happens in the real estate market. Here is the new form that all home buyers are going to have to be acquainted with. The Compensation Agreement stipulates what a real estate broker in Colorado is going to charge for their services to you. Please note, this form does not obligate you to work with the real estate broker, it is merely a disclosure so that you are aware of the potential charges if you move forward with this agent. The Spring market continues on, though restrained by those higher mortgage interest rates. Price appreciation continues to elevate only slightly. I’m seeing some local markets have price reductions while homes at the lower end of the market are getting multiple offers. The balance of sales shows price appreciation in our overall market. We do have some headwinds as we get into our Spring market, including higher interest rates and higher home values. Despite the impact this is having on affordability, the market is remaining stable.
