The HSE and Minister for Health are to be contacted over a lack of home help staff in Sligo.

There are fears that if the staffing isn't addressed soon, there will be an increase in attendance at hospitals and elderly homes.

It's thought that the current recruitment restrictions in place at the HSE has led to the shortage.
