And these nomadic peoples had splintered into the marauding hordes and the aristocratic groups seen across West Africa, but particularly Nigeria. How did the shy cattle herders of Nigeria become the notorious horde it has become today? Experts have said the diminishing natural resources made scarce by changes in the environment is responsible.
