District Attorney Talks Guns, Drugs, Retail Crime

How do you describe Albuquerque to a friend who's never been here? There are a lot of beautiful things about this place: the food, the landscape, the culture, the balloons...(we could go on), but there are also some not-so-nice realities New Mexicans face when it comes to crime, drugs, and gun violence. Prosecutors in Bernalillo County have extensive caseloads. When Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham appointed Sam Bregman to fill the vacated position of Bernalillo County's District Attorney, Bregman said his plan was to finish out the term and not run for re-election. He's since changed his mind, saying he's "never been a quitter." This week, Chris and Gabby host Bregman to discuss the area's crime problem, the changes he's implementing, and how the DA's office is measuring success.
