Billy Bevevino - Lift Me Up EP BUY LINK: https://go.protonradio.com/r/rl_Hn0WMBQcFw Label: Analog Animals (https://soundcloud.com/keystone-music) > Billy Bevevino (https://soundcloud.com/bbevevinomusic) https://www.instagram.com/billybevevinomusic Billy Bevevino delivers his anticipated ‘Lift Me Up’ EP, landing on his self-run Analog Animals imprint this November. These four synth-heavy jams, spanning house, hip-house and UKG, were created across two years in Philadelphia and in South America at the Artesumapaz Artist Residence. Created using analogue gear such as the Roland TR-8S, 404, and Behringer TB-3, Billy crams high, positive energy into dance belters topped with classic breaks and clever samples. This ep and Billy’s overall musical direction has been heavily influenced by early morning shows thrown in Philadelphia by collectives such as Subsurface and Making Time and at South American venues such as Video Club located in Bogota and El Rio Hostel in the jungles of Buritaca. ‘Analog Jam’ is a highly danceable house groove where squelching synths dance through a frenzy of quickfire filter modulation, interacting lovingly with the track’s kick drums. Rave destroyer ‘Chunker’ does what it says on the tin, really – a warm, wedge of break drops into your lap, paired with a wiggly synth and finely chopped vocal. It’s a dancefloor essential, made during an eight-hour bus journey through Colombia, with Billy combining ten different ideas to create a Freankenstein-esque hip house slammer. The EP’s title track, ‘Lift Me Up’, was inspired by and created after a late night DJ set by modern New York dance legend, AceMo. Billy dives head first into speed garage territory, throwing a funky sample over the top and a naughty bassline in the latter half to make for a unique hit. The final track on the EP, ‘Release Me’, is a collab with D.C.-based artist Renai, founder of the city’s renowned Supper Club party series. An acid-tinged house track, the artists took the vocal sample from a record found at Impressions Records in Philadelphia. The EP was executively produced, mixed and mastered by Zach Atom who is also a co-founder of Rock The House. The visuals for this project were produced by the multi-hyphenate creative Justin Leggett. Billy Bevevino is a Philadelphia-raised - Brooklyn-transplant DJ, producer, and co-founder of the Rock The House music collective. His analog-driven productions and energetic performances reflect a deep passion for classic samples and high-energy club culture. With releases on labels like Basementdiscos, Y4 Records, and Fantastic Voyage, he has garnered support from legends like Todd Edwards and contemporary tastemakers such as TSHA and Ky William. After nearly a decade of performing and throwing parties, Billy continues to uplift ravers through both his tracks and his community-driven events.
