Jesus bids the disciples goodbye but with something very important. As he ascends into heaven, the disciple's eyes are opened to the scripture and how Jesus fulfilled it. They also have the assurance something is coming that will give them the strength to tell the world about what God has done through his son. Jesus does one more thing too, he blesses them, just like the benediction we have every Sunday.
