Season 2, Episode 6: Back to School - Part One
Manage episode 394312085 series 3548146
In today's episode, Rylie Heck and Sofia Scher interview Palm Beach County high school teacher Mrs. Christine Brown. Mrs. Christine Brown grew up near Amish Country in Pennsylvania and went to school at American University in Washington, DC. While student teaching in DC, she taught many students from extremely disadvantaged backgrounds. Ms. Brown first taught in a Title 1 school and had a student named Faith who kept asking to come home with her. A few months later, Mrs. Brown and her husband became licensed for foster care. After a midnight call, a social worker showed up with a 3 year old named Navaeh and that’s where her foster care journey began. In the interview, they discuss all things "back to school" including shopping, paperwork, and much more. This is part one of a two-part episode panel.
