This was not the easiest topic for me to record, nonetheless I was able to get it together. In this episode I talk about my experience with feeling as if I had to prove I was “black enough.” In addition, I do a CTA for us to have compassion and respond in love to one another as we discuss sensitive topics surrounding being black or a person of color. Clearly this episode doesn’t even touch the surface of things, but maybe this can be a door for honest, loving, and REAL TALK.
I am coming from my own perspective and therefore it is limited. However, I am interested in hearing your prespective and opinion. How can we supporting one another on this journey? How can we create more safe and welcome spaces, as a community? How can we accept our difference and still know that we are in this together; your way of responding to injustice-- doesn’t have to look like mine.
