During this episode Dr. Scott Speed & John Costino interview Historian and Economist Dr. Walter Greason about his research and work at the intersections of history, race, and economics. Dr. Walter D. Greason is the CEO of the International Center for Metropolitan Growth. He has taught at hundreds of colleges and universities across the United States since 1997 and is currently teaching Business and Economic Development at Monmouth University. Dr. Greason's research interests include African and American history, emphasizing the relationship between poverty and economic development. His interests also include the trans-Atlantic slave trade, innovation in experiential education, and the intellectual legacy of white supremacy. For the last twenty years, he has established himself as the world's leading authority on the economics of race and metropolitan growth. Serving the world's most prosperous metropolitan region (the Boston to Washington, D.C. corridor), Dr. Greason has advised hundreds of businesses and organizations on fiscal management, investment, and development strategies. He also currently serves as the Treasurer of the Society for American City and Regional Planning History (www.sacrph.org) and is an officer on the Membership Committee of the Organization of American Historians.
