Today I welcome Dr Orlena Kerek to the show as we discuss how tapping into our "positive brain" can allow us to be our best self.
Dr Orlena is from the UK and is a qualified Doctor. She left traditional medicine behind in pursuit of her ideal life and now lives just up the road from me here in Spain, working as a coach to help women lose weight and improve their life.
We talk today about why people struggle to lose weight, the importance of habits and how they can be the key to enable our success.
In her work, Dr Orlena focuses on 4 pillars:
- Healthy eating that you enjoy,
- Movement or exercise that lights you up
- Sleep
- Emotional wellness
When working with clients and in her own life, Dr Orlena favours healthy living rather than counting calories for sustainable weight loss. We talk about how losing weight goes beyond simply picking the "right" foods and how we need to remove the decisions that can potentially throw us off track, rather than rely on our motivation and discipline to carry us through.
