What To Look Out For In Freelancer Contracts
Manage episode 406093244 series 2670581
While I'm not a legal expert and I certainly advise you to always have a lawyer look over any contract you sign, I did want to share an overall piece of advice that has benefited me—whenever possible, look to make things as equal as possible within the language. For example, if there's a copyright clause, a confidentiality clause, etc then all those should apply to the client and you exactly the same. There shouldn't be more protective language for the client and yours be weak (aka minimal protections). I've seen contracts where I would be held so liable if I said anything negative about the client but none of that was in place to protect me from the client saying anything about me. That doesn't work for me and it doesn't have to work for you! Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe! Also, it'd mean the world to me if you check out the crowdfund for my latest film project: http://bit.ly/FundArbiters.
