It is time to wake up an pay attention as we approach 2024. Unlike when we were children and we could pull the covers over our heads until the monster's left our bedroom's, there is no hiding from this monster. This monster like many past dictators uses basic rhetorical tools to motivate his base and more. He communicates based on emotion, he appeals to to emotion without truth. When this occurs facts do not matter. This has been proven time and time again, throughout history, just look at Germany in the 1930's. The gas that fuels the emotion is fear, and this equation leads to violence. Peace and equality do not just happen like magic. It is time for the majority to put in the effort to get informed so we can make rational decisions, to save our fragile democracy. It is through information, effort, and courage that we become the voice for the voiceless, the children, the oppressed, the future. The present is now, we are in the present, and it is not a spectator sport. It is ok to disagree, based on facts, and positions. This requires an informed majority with courage no matter political affiliations to squelch the noise of the ignorant minority.
