Het is ook in zijn werk dat we op zoek moeten gaan naar sporen van de oude meester want hoe beroemd ook, over zijn leven is verrassend weinig bekend. Als een detective legt biografe Leen Huet veel losse puzzelstukjes samen en langzaam doemt een portret op van deze fantastische 16de eeuwse kunstenaar.
