Many of us have heard the expression "it takes a village" when it comes to raising children. Parents seem to crave (need?) to have a support system around them to help them look after the kids when they can't, either because they are busy working or because they simply need a break.

However, many parents are also very defensive when it comes to other people even suggesting how to discipline their children, which is somehow even worse when it comes from someone who doesn't have children because "you're not a parent so you wouldn't get it."
