Our SIXTEENTH and SECOND Texas specific episode, where u/PancakeLawyer shares her bar exam journey! As usual, we start with u/PancakeLawyer’s background into becoming interested in law, with a specific story about a trademark competition for 20 dollars. Next we discuss retaking the bar exam and realizing your own weaknesses pertaining to taking the bar exam. Next we talk about predictable topics that are tested on the bar exam as well as saucy interlopers. A “green ball” analogy is brought up by u/PancakeLawyer which is elaborated upon and explained why repetition and the BED system is the key to passing ANY bar exam in the country! Next, we talk about how the BED system forces you to answer questions that you may not understand or even like and how there is no choice but to understand it before moving on. The BED 5-Layer writing approach is explained next. How it is like a “systems check” as first coined by Jen-Ven in Episode 14 but explained here https://youtu.be/EodbryPRhmg by @jason! Next we talk about results and the range of emotions that come with waiting for results and finding out you passed! Next is what she’s done the last couple of days since results including the Texas Law Component, as the final step to become licensed. San begins to ask about negativity and coping with them before he hijacks this portion with his own tip in using “unfollow” and “block” for those people. Sanny then shares his personal story of getting his passing result beside his daughter who has only known for her life that her Dad has been struggling with the bar exam, but finally passed :) San apologizes for hijacking the conversation and allows u/PancakeLawyer to speak about taking an inventory of the people around you during bar exam prep. Finally, is u/PancakeLawyer’s message to all retakers and first timers regarding the bar exam. This series of podcasts are designed to be listened to for inspiration and motivation. Each episode interviews an attorney sharing their own struggle through the Bar Exam, in which they eventually triumph!
