SSHH...waking up to silence
Manage episode 337428791 series 3273773
Mindfulness is a way to show up to and see things as they are. No judgement. Mindfulness Meditation asks us to take time for relative stillness & silence, to watch our breath and remain present with things as they are.
In this episode, Theresa & Sherry talk about mindfulness & meditation, as formal practices as well as daily activities. They take a look at aspects of mindfulness meditation, especially the significance of "the return" after wandering from the breath.
They reminisce the third session of caMp as they joined the campers in various practices designed to wake up to the moment. Most of the session was conducted without speaking, but there were many sounds including laughter and an ambient mingling of bird songs & the hum of traffic on Rt. 1.
Theresa mentions Thich Nhat Hanh's teaching about bells, how they are opportunities to wake up.
Theresa announces her FREE 3-day webinar, Fascia Foundations, that starts this week. It began on 8/9/22, but you can still sign up. You will receive the recordings to watch later and catch the next 2 live (8/16, 8/23).
