Observation and being able to wait and suspend judgement are important skills to gain in self regulation whether it be a wooded outdoor environment or a more socialized interaction with people. Both require that we accurately interpret what we hear in our environment. These skills help us to become more skillful reckoners in interactions where we interact with others where we cannot afford to trust words as they are spoken and when behaviors appear to be authentic and genuine, especially when our preverbal, body and gut feels don't agree with what we are seeing and hearing. Trust you gut feelings and walk well.
