Ep 12 Emotional Blindness during stress, conflict and the impact on communication and relationships
Manage episode 374735436 series 3493930
Emotional Blindness is what happens to us when we as humans under the sudden stress of argument, confrontation, fear, or sudden onset shock or pain experience when trying to communicate under actual perceived and at times even conceived threat of danger (even without evidence) that causes physiological impact to our social interactions that require rapport, trust, and communication. Familiarity does not matter when our vision can no longer recognize and leverage a history of trust with a familiar individual and much less a stranger or acquaintance in our environment that may be loud, abrupt or nervous. Just recently this was displayed with a lady in hypervigilant state was unable to recognize a person as real. She was not lying, she was filtering information from a deep primordial neurological program that was triggered by stress. Deep things indeed.
