An ideal VS a job

It is quite easy for people to transform their pursuit for their dreams as the pursuit of a job, or as some material substances. A job does not equal to a dream, but rather, a job is just one of the ways to realize the dream. A dream is what should be accomplished in people’s mind. It is a state of life, rather than an external object.

If people approach their own jobs from a negative perspective, then every job has many points to be complained about. Instead, people should view their job from an active perspective, with a firm understanding on what they are doing, and the meaning of their deeds. Some say that, wherever there is sunshine, there is shadow, whereas others say that wherever there is shadow, there is sunshine.That is, the way people see things decides their attitudes.

People want to realize too many things through a job, such as a high income, their own interests, and the realization of individual values. In many cases, people cannot balance these aspects in a job and they suffer. The excessive attention to these outside factors makes people forget about themselves. In fact, we should pay more attention to what we are able to do and in what ways our work could help other people.

When people are making plans for their own career, or for a company, or for a country, they will take what will happen in five years, a decade, or even fifty years into their consideration. Why? Because the action that people take now is closely related to the direction and goal in the future.

Therefore,if people make reasonable plans tailored to the present conditions, they are practicing the Dharma right now.

理想与职业

我们很容易把理想物化为一个具体的职业或者物质，其实职业不等于理想，而只是实现理想的一个途径。理想应该是内心的追求、生命的状态，不是外在的事物。如果从负面去看，每个职业都有一大堆可吐槽的地方。要从正面去看，明白自己在做什么，有什么意义。

有人说，阳光存在之处必有阴影；有人说，阴影的背后一定有阳光。很多事情，怎么去看待，就决定了我们的心态。人们想通过职业实现的东西太多，收入、兴趣、个人价值……往往因为这些不能兼顾而苦恼纠结，但对外在挑拣太多，反而忘记了自身。其实更应该考虑的是自己能做什么，自己的工作能为别人奉献什么价值。

社会上的人做职业规划，或者企业乃至国家做发展规划，都是要想到五年后、十年后、五十年后等等，未来是什么方向，现在应该走哪一步、完成哪些目标，都是相关联的。随顺自己的环境，合理规划，每一个当下都是修行。
