Thank you. I saw these verses in Jeremiah 23:21-22: "I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings." What stood out to me as the core of these verses was the past tense statement, "But If they had stood in My counsel..." Everything was hinged on this very thing. The outcome was that they stood in the counsels of those who were never sent from God or spoken to by Him. Yet, "the ran." This last generation has been so deeply conditioned to listen to what many are saying to them instead of listening quietly to God Himself. It is not just the obvious self-styled prophets that are the big issue, but many it seems who are saying these days, "The Lord told me...God told me to tell you." Notice the word "But" in Jeremiah's words. This is a turning word. A word that showed another way. People say they cannot hear from God and so He has been replaced and they now stand in other counsels. It says in Psalm 33:11: " The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations." The measure of our power in Christ is realized in our standing in His counsel. Notice if we stand in His counsel then His counsel will stand in us forever. God is always reciprocal. Stay living close to Him because He is able to show you His thoughts and reveal His plans for you. Then you can work along His lines and no one else's. Then He will back you with His power. "It is simply absurd to say you believe, or even want to believe, in Him, if you do not do anything He tells you."
