Stage One, Stage Two, Stage Three, We Have Minimal Systems

Hi everyone, Carl Gould here with your #70secondCEO. Just a little over a one minute investment every day for a lifetime of results.

Have a team that's bought into your mission, vision, values and purpose. They will do whatever it takes to make the job happen, right? The result happened. Now, you'll notice I haven't used the word systems yet. stage one, stage two, stage three, we have minimal systems. Okay, if you put in systems too early, you will slow down the business's growth, alright. What I've learned over the last 32 years and hundreds of 1000s of businesses is that sequence matters. When I meet a client for the first time, they're doing almost everything right like, they'll tell me, I'm like, What are you doing? Like, oh, do this, this this? And I'll say, Wow, that sounds great. You're doing it all right. At the same time, guess what, almost everyone is doing them out of order. When you do the right thing at the wrong time, you put friction into the system. So you put systems into too early. You're trying to put efficiencies into parts of the business that are not designed for efficiency. So for example, everyone loves to automate lead gen. Everyone likes to automate their sales process. It's nearly impossible. You can't throw enough money at your sales and marketing systems in order to fully automate them and make them fully efficient. They're not designed that way. Jeff Bezos gave an interview where he said our client acquisition process right now, which is giving away prime and freemium, and it's not sustainable. At this rate, it's too expensive to acquire a client. We can't do it this way, right? So you either get involved in your sales and marketing systems in the beginning to make it effective and then once it's fully effective, meaning you know what price to charge and who your ideal client is and what gets them to buy for how often and at what frequency, then you put efficiencies into your business development efforts but it's never going to be fully efficient.
