Gulli-danda is the king of all games, is simple with no rules or bets or bats or nets. Steeped in the rural scene of India, it is free of any division and discrimination. As the narrator comes back to his hometown as an established engineer, yearning for a game of gulli-danda, somehow his status and wealth has crept up between him and his childhood friends from the village, taking away the wild essence and freedom from his beloved gulli-danda.
