Bob Burg shares information on topics vital to the success of today’s businessperson. He speaks for corporations and associations internationally, including fortune 500 companies, franchises, and numerous direct sales organizations. Bob regularly addresses audiences ranging in size from 50 to 16,000 — sharing the platform with notables including today’s top thought leaders, broadcast personalities, Olympic athletes and political leaders including a former United States President. Although for years he was best known for his book Endless Referrals, over the past few years it’s his business parable, The Go-Giver (coauthored with John David Mann) that has captured the imagination of his readers. The Go-Giver, a The Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek Bestseller, has sold over 500,000 copies. Since its release it has consistently stayed in the top 25 on 800ceoread’s Business Book Bestsellers List. It has been translated into 21 languages and is Bob’s fourth book to sell over 250,000 copies. Bob is an advocate, supporter and defender of the Free Enterprise system, believing that the amount of money one makes is directly proportional to how many people they serve. He is also an unapologetic animal fanatic and serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Furry Friends Adoption and Clinic in Jupiter, Florida. Key Points: -Bob's greatest transformation occurred in his mid to late 30's. Even though he had business success, he was unsatisfied with himself. He felt he was missing an ingredient. -One of his mentors, Charlie "Tremendous" Jones suggested a book to Bob and in the book were principles by Benjamin Franklin in the form of a 13-week course repeated 4 times = one year. Bob went through the course and this helped him to transform and adopt the traits that Benjamin Franklin taught. -There are certain traits we have to work on in order to become successful. -Bob had a lack of gratitude and didn't see things in a positive way. He gossiped and talk bad about others. -His parents were the opposite and were examples of what The Go-Giver preaches. -An older gentleman where Bob worked in sales suggested to Bob that he target serving others and not on the money. This was another key transformation. "Great leadership is never about the leader. Who is it about? It's everyone whose lives you want to add value to." -Bob Burg 3 Tips: *Desire is a given and everything starts with it. 1. Seek out and find the information (you need to succeed). -Follow the system that was created by other successful people. 2. Apply the information and what you learned immediately. -Take massive action! 3. Be persistent -Outlast the "No's." -Have an attitude of "going for no's." *Have absolute belief in yourself. It took her years to do that. -She she hit a point, after doing a lot of work on herself, she hired a coach to help her get out of her own mind and help rewrite her script. 3 Tips: 1. As a creative entrepreneur, watch the cash flow, get to know your numbers. Cash Flow is King! 2. Continue to learn. Things are constantly changing and it's important to keep up. Learn and then teach. Put yourself out into the marketplace. Continue to stay up on the trends. If you want to really grow, follow top leaders and experts in your industry. Especially the ones that spend $200,000+ on marketing. 3. Do what you love. Again, passion will keep you going. Get to know yourself. Bonus Tips: -As an entrepreneur, learn to solve a problem and give value. One of the top ways to do this is to write a book. This will set you apart as a leader. -Create an outline for the book you want to write. There are many ways to write a book, including doing an audio interview. You can even do that and create a book in as little as 3 hours. -Figure out how much time you're willing to spend on certain things. Focus on what's important for the success of your business and stay away from simply busy work or fighting fires (like immediate stuff). Follow the 80/20 Rule. And unless you assume your rightful responsibility, and begin to program your own mind, the world will program it for you." -Jack Kornfield - We must take control of our thinking to take back control of our mind. Warrior thinking takes responsibility and victim thinking blames external circumstances or others. Key Points: - Transformation happens in the darkness, growth happens in the light. - Gregg trained for months prior to making the climb in June 1998 of Mt. Rainier. - During the training at Mt Rainier, they ascended to the summit and took pictures for hours. The snow got slushy. - On their descent, the snow was really wet and as the team traversed near Disappointment Cleaver, Gregg was snapping into the rope with the trainer. Soon after, he took 10 steps and he heard an avalanche of wet, rock hard snow coming down. The snow swept him and some others away, down the mountain. As Gregg slid, he tried to determine how he was going to survive. He kept sliding towards the cliff. - He came to an abrupt stop, with only the trainer holding the rope as his hand was crushed. - Another team saw what happened and went to get rescuers. Gregg and his group waited for hours. Little did Gregg know that he had a torn PCL. - Once rescuers were contacted and arrived. Gregg and his group had to walk a mile to the rescue helicopter, all suffering from dehydration and hypothermia. They made it except one person who died from hypothermia. "Once we go through the physical, the next layer is the mental, then the emotional. When we just use those aspects up, the spiritual one is the last one. That's our purpose. That's our reason why we are alive, why we are here. And that's the one that will keep you going further than any of the other ones." - Gregg Swanson - The physical, the mental, the emotional and the spiritual are important parts to the warrior mind training. 4 Tips: 1. Challenge. How you see a challenge is important to whether or not you're going to succeed. Do you see it as an obstacle or as an opportunity? Shift your perspective. 2. Commitment. Set goals. When you have goals, see them through. Know that it takes commitment to ensure success in any endeavor you engage in. Go all in. 3. Confidence. Self-confidence is needed to reach success in your goals. Look at your past wins and your skills as a way to enhance your confidence towards a new endeavor. 4. Control. Build the control of our emotions around it. "We can create dis-empowering stories or we can create empowering stories over any event we have. It's up to us on how we want to frame it." - Gregg Swanson Favorite Books: Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Joe Dispenza Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill The Nature of Personal Reality - Seth Speaks by Jane Roberts. Abstract artist, Skin care specialist and Motivational Speaker, Jen Braff also works as Executive assistant to CEO, Jim Fowler of Novo Construction. Jen once was the long-time Executive assistant to the owner of the Los Angeles Lakers Dr Jerry Buss, until his passing in 2011. Jen has many other experiences, including her appearance in the NBC hit show, Age of Love. She was pitted in against girls half her age, in the reality series about whether age matters when it comes to love. In the final episode Jen came in as the runner-up. Jen has also recently appeared on 60 Minutes, the Dr Phil show, and was featured on TV Guides “Sexiest Stars of Reality TV. Other features include People Magazine, Star and US Magazine; all because of her youthful, unique and interesting take on life, no matter her age. She's posed for Playboy Magazine, a television host for many live events in Los Angeles, and has been a swimsuit model for over 20 years, doing ads and runway for several companies including Ujena Swimwear. Jen obviously does not go by the "standard" when it comes to living life as an "older woman." Jen is involved with charitable efforts that help to support abused women and children, has numerously appeared on Fox 11’s Good Day LA for ST Martins animal rescue and adoption, and supports International Green Shield which helps raise monies victims of Katrina, etc. She has started her own YouTube channel which tells of her secrets to DIY beauty, where and how to save on skin care, make up for women her age, staying and looking young, and being positive and confident in who you are at any age. Jen has a son Jon in his 30's, whom she raised as a single mother without financial help from his father who was not much a part of Jon's life growing up. That situation actually helped her become a stronger woman and fortunately Jen was raised with both parents (still together,) 6 brothers, and a huge extended family, there was no lack of love and support. Three of her brothers are Los Angeles city firefighters; one is a high school teacher, another works for Long Beach Police Dept. She was most proud of her brother Harry who passed in 2011, and was disabled and taught her the most about compassion and patience. She has been through many trials and tests in her life, some when just a child, but Jen believes your past is a important part of your life. Even the negative experiences are learning tools if you have the right attitude about them. They help shape who you are, but don’t have to limit what you can accomplish and become, today. This life is to be lived now with the greatest happiness and joy. Everything is possible if you believe! “Don’t let people dictate how you feel about yourself. You can’t control others, but you can be the master of how you think and feel about You.” Favorite Quote: "Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude." - Denis Waitley Key Points: Jennifer had a goal early in life to be happy. She had to deal with abuse as a young child which left her with damaged adrenals. Her recover was hard. Even so, she managed to compete in dance and in sports. In 2011, her best friend and mentor, Dr. Jerry Buss, passed away and within the same time period, her brother passed away. This left her dealing with PTSD, which led her body's organs to start shutting down. Her cat also went through the same symptoms. At that time, she was bedridden for a year. For those over 50 (and ever 40), don't put limitations and boundaries on yourself. Be self-aware of what your body can handle and can't handle. Jennifer is starting a YouTube series with her brother Jerry. She wouldn't be where she is now had she not gone through her greatest transformation and the spiritual awakening she had. She creates in her mind what she manifests outside, including her health and youthfulness. Never stop learning. "Don't put boundaries on yourself, don't be afraid of a number." -Jennifer Braff 3 Tips: 1. Learn how to take care of yourself first. You can't be your best self until you engage in self-care. 2. Learn unconditional love for yourself and for others.. 3. Take responsibility for your life and stop blaming others for what happens. Let go of past issues. Jeanette' s passion for health and fitness started at a very young age, she has 20 years of experience in the industry. Her passion to help people transform their lives and instill healthy habits into their lifestyle is priceless. Her whole philosophy of fitness is mind, body and soul... it takes every part of us to truly commit and be transformed. "Life was good but yet I felt something was missing. It was time to do something greater, I felt incomplete and lacking in the spiritual side of myself. I was always so focused on the physical aspect of fitness, I knew there was something more. I was granted the most amazing trip to Indonesia with one of my clients which became the most transformational trip of my life thus far. I have always loved yoga but this trip yoga became alive to me in Bali. I have never felt peace the way I experienced it there, it was the most beautiful feeling to have a peaceful and graceful connection with my mind, body and soul." Key Points 1. Fitness means being balanced in mind, body and spiritual growth. My greatest transformation was realizing that in winning in competition I was missing the spiritual and emotional transformation in my life. 2. Learn to release control and know that everything is already within yourself. I had to do that with my gym after crying, asking myself if what I was doing enough. 3. Learn how to be vulnerable and authentic. "Being vulnerable and really allowing people to see us is what brings up together - the connection." 4. Be true to yourself. I had to learn to take a stand to what Jeanette needs and wants. Being true to myself. 5. Go through an emotional breakthrough. Getting people to have their own emotional breakthrough, but, I had to go through it myself. 3 Things to Help Yourself 1. Surround yourself with people who want you to grow. Successful people are willing to help you, including giving your advice and support. 2. Deep dive into personal development. Go to workshops, ready books and attend seminars. It's about inner self-work. 3. Find the stillness. For me it was yoga that provided it. Becoming one with my mind and body, feeling the breath. Yoga helped me to loosen a tight body that years of weight lifting brought on and finding the stillness. Allow yourself to be and not do. It may not be yoga for you, it could be Tai Chi or some other way to stillness. Connect With Jeanette: http://jeanetteortega.com/…
