What do the low women labour force participation rates in India indicate? How has COVID-19 impacted women labour in India? What can the Indian state, society, and markets do to correct the gender gap? These are some questions we discuss in this Puliyabaazi with Dr Ashwini Deshpande (@AshwDeshpande), Professor of Economics and the Founding Director of Centre for Economic Data and Analysis at Ashoka University.
